ATELIERI'S ONE THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS PHOTOGRAPHY -pt.1

One of our group shots from the Ateileri shooting at the Helsinki Burlesque Festival (as you could see in the video) earlier this month; The Itty-Bitty Tease Cabaret : Surfin' Bird.

MASTERS AT WORK

A video of Atelieri O.Haapala photographing the guests and performers of The Helsinki Burlesque Festival 2011. You can spot lovely Cherry Typhoon from Japan, gorgeus Alotta Boutté and my favorite Kitten On the Keys (from the US) getting their portaits taken. And also us, The Itty-Bitty Tease Cabaret!

Can't wait to see the results, as I know that the outcome is always very very good.

THE BOUDOIR SERIES

The result of the Atelieri shoot a month back, inspired by erotic photographs from the early 1900s (my hand however modestifying the photo a bit, for internet's sake..).

These can be seen along with the rest of the series at the "Alice in Wonderland"- exhibition about contemporary photography at Logomo in Turku, as part of the design capital 2011 happenings.
The exhibition will open on Friday and run until December.

SHOOT!

I've had a weekend filled with photo shoots and also managed to sneak a show in between. Now it's time to sleep a bit, phew!

First we had an shoot with the oh-so-magnificent Atelieri O.Haapala, inspired by old erotic postcards.

Today (or, yesterday by now I guess) we had an amazing late night water shoot in Yrjönkadun uimahalli with amazingly talented photographer Kerttu Malinen, who we will work with some more later on too.

Afterwards. Very wet.
Camera covering very glitter-heavy eyelids.

There will be a third fabulous shoot now on Monday night, butI think I will have to let vanity loose and family win and celebrate the Indepedence evening at home with Eddi and his boys.

MIDAS

Seems like everything my friends Saara and Marco (newlywed btw ♥) touch, or, to be more exact; photograph, turns to gold - I just love the new photos from their Atelieri O.Haapala project!




Although in this case, sideshow- and burlesque performer Missy Macabre is pretty fabulous herself already...

FRIDAY 13th

Huuu huu huu shake and shiver it's Friday 13th!
...and shake and shimmy and shimmer too as tonight Sally's Chest of Mysteries Horror Edition takes place :)

We'll do our zombie-bikini routine ( a travesty on this classic number of ours) and also solo's and a spooky trio! I did not finish my 50ft woman number in time so I'll have to premiere that some other time. Quite nice actually so I can catch all other dances of the living dead instead, there will be plenty of performers tonight!

The event is at Semifinal and with good luck there are still a few tickets left t the door!

ATELIERI O.HAAPALA EXHIBITON

Most of you who read my blog should have become familiar with Atelieri Onyxei Haapala and their steampunk-y cabinet portraits by now. (Seen here, here and here.) Now you can see all the portraits taken during the project, over 800 pieces, exhibited at The Finnish Museum of Photography. The opening is on Tuesday night, the 26th!

FRIDAY 13th : THE LOVING DEAD

Eddi & I at the Halloween Horror Cabaret by Atelieri O.Haapala (who says they will do one more gig still, November 28th! Keep your eyers open... ).

I'm wearing the long velvet 1930's evening gown that I picked up at my ederly relative some time ago.

CABINET PORTAIT

A couple of Sundays ago we had our photo taken by Atelieri O.Haapala at a small street fair. There is only one chance left for you to get one yourself, at the Halloween Horror Cabaret, since the project is coming to and end! All the photos they've taken will be exhibitioned at the Finnish Museum of Photography in the beginning of next year.

The Horror Cabaret party is at Wäiski and our burlesque troupe will perform one scary number there. But more on that later.

(The photo above is scanned from a print, the digital version is much brighter. I prefer the printed one - and just got a big print of us, without thext, framed in black and gold. Now I just need to figure out where to put it; I'm running out of wallspace :)
